Privacy Policy

Swayne is a creative intelligence and coaching product for Instagram creators. This policy explains what information Swayne collects, how it’s used, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to swayne.app and the Swayne product as a whole.

Swayne only accesses an Instagram account after you explicitly connect it through Meta’s own login flow. You can disconnect that access at any time from Settings.

Account information. When you create a Swayne account, we collect the email address and credentials needed to authenticate you, along with basic preferences such as your selected language and onboarding choices.

Your connected Instagram account. When you connect an Instagram professional account, Meta’s API shares information with Swayne that may include:

• Your Instagram account and profile identifiers, username, and account-level profile metadata (e.g. follower and media counts)
• Metadata for your posts: media type, captions, timestamps, and permalinks
• Media previews such as thumbnails or public media URLs, where the API makes them available
• Performance metrics available through the API, such as reach, likes, comments, saves, shares, views, average watch time, and other insights Meta exposes for your content

We do not receive your Instagram password. Authentication happens entirely through Meta’s own login flow.

Public content for benchmarking. Swayne may also analyze public Instagram accounts and public posts, where permitted by Meta’s APIs, to identify broader trends and provide benchmark context. This is limited to information Meta’s APIs make available for public content — Swayne never accesses or claims access to another account’s private data.

We use the information above to:

• Import and analyze your connected account’s content
• Generate post-level analysis and identify performance patterns specific to your account
• Produce the personalized recommendations you see in Today
• Power Insights, the patterns Swayne surfaces about your content over time
• Keep your account data current through periodic background synchronization
• Maintain, secure, and improve the reliability of the product

We do not use your Instagram content to serve you third-party advertising, and we do not sell your data.

Some of Swayne’s analysis is performed by AI models that review post images and captions to identify creative attributes — for example, styling, composition, or setting — that feed into your recommendations. This processing is currently performed by Google’s Gemini models, acting as a data processor on Swayne’s behalf; the content sent for analysis is used only to generate your results and is not used by Google to train models made available to other parties.

Swayne’s data is stored using Supabase (database and file storage) and hosted on Vercel. Background synchronization jobs run through Inngest. Access tokens for your connected Instagram account are encrypted before they’re stored, and are only ever decrypted server-side when needed to call Meta’s API on your behalf.

We restrict access to your data to what our systems need to operate the product. We don’t share your account data with unrelated third parties, and we don’t sell it.

We retain your account information and imported Instagram content for as long as your account is active, so that Swayne’s recommendations can keep improving as more of your history accumulates.

Disconnecting your Instagram account from Settings immediately revokes Swayne’s access and deletes the stored access tokens. Previously imported post history and metrics are kept so you don’t lose that value if you reconnect later. If you’d like that historical data deleted as well, or want your entire Swayne account and all associated data removed, contact us using the details below and we will process your request.

• Disconnect your Instagram account at any time from Settings
• Change your language preference at any time from Settings
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data, including full account deletion

Swayne is intended for creators managing a professional Instagram account and is not directed to, or knowingly used by, children under 13.

Swayne’s infrastructure providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using Swayne, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in a country other than your own.

We may update this policy as Swayne’s product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
